A Glad Summertime with Grandparents

It was summer and it was time for Kate and Rodger to go and spend some days with their grandma and grandpa. They were looking for adventure and something exciting in life, so they longed for this opportunity to go and stay with their grandparents. While the first day of their visit was wonderful, the second day was altogether unforgettable. The children got up early in the morning and wondered what their grandparents had in store for them. The plan was to go for a beachside picnic. “Hurrah!” said Kate, “This is surely going to be so exciting.” Rodger nodded in agreement. Then they started to make preparations for the picnic.

They helped Grandpa load the things inside the car and they even assisted Grandma in preparing the lunch boxes. They even took costumes for swimming in the water. They set out in the car towards the beach. Kate said, “Let’s play some games, Rodger. This will make the journey more exciting.” Each of them uttered the first letters of the things they were to find both on the street and inside the car. Both children named the words correctly, which was lots of fun for them. The entire journey turned into a learning experience.

Once they arrived at the beach they loved the view around them. There were people of all sorts on the beach. All were dressed in summer clothing and there were even passersby on their roller skates. Everyone had their mode of entertainment on the beach and it was fun watching so many people at the same place. The seagulls were flying in the sky and people were taking casual strolls with their pets on the beach. Everything seemed like a treat to the eyes.

Rodger and Kate immediately sat down to make a fantastic sand castle. They used so many things to decorate the castle and people appreciated their true efforts.

Then Grandma suddenly called both of them and said, “Come and have some ice cream and make your day lovelier.”

True, the day was indeed lovely and special and the children could not wait for their next vacation to arrive.
